Leadership: Organizing a field trip

Islands in Sabah [source: google images; because theres no way i have this kind of photography skills]

So last April, I went on a field trip which i organized along with 2 of my colleagues to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. To summarize;


  • 3 days trip was a total of RM400 perhead
  • Booked flight 2 months earlier RM120 ROUND TRIP
  • Hotel boooked on Agoda.com with discount and ealy bird promo RM70 pernight/head
  • Boats and activities on island - not so expensive, dont book with agent!!! - i did snorkeling, parasailing and islamd hopping for less than RM200.
  • Clean and beautiful islands.


From Jesselton Point, I took a boat to Manukan - Mamutik - Mabul

But, I suggest if one day trip, just go to one Island. 3 is too much, I slept at the third island.

To summarize, Organizing a good field trip requires skills and knowledge too! It is important for a leader to know how to organize a trip regardless of social trip or work trip.
