Championes` !

Happy Sunday y`all ! Today i will like to share a memorable experience during the course of last weekend while playing in the Matador Hockey Tournament held at Stadium Tun Razak,Kuala Lumpur. The tournament was organised by Sarjit Singh (ex national captain), who promotes Matador brand here in Malaysia.Melaka Sikhs were eager to compete in this tournament but there was one problem initially. The entry fees for the tournament was RM800.Given the fact most our players are lads who are still studying,we would not be able to raise such cash.We highlighted this matter to Melaka Sikhs Cultural Sports Club (MSCSC).After a meeting, much to our delight,MSCSC agreed to pay the entry fees of the tournament.Along with our young team we decided to include a few senior players to help aid our chances of winning.15 teams from all over the world participated in this tournament (namely from Sri Lanka,Singapore & Australia).Maybe luck was on our side that day,we were crowned champions of the tourney beating a team from Johor in the finals in a penalty shootout (3-2).The whole team was in high spirits and the celebrations continued throughout the journey from K.L to Melaka.I really hope we continue to to play together as a team in the future and hopefully achieve more glory .
