Manage - to bring about, to accomplish, to have charge of, or responsibility for.
Leading - influencing, guiding in direction, action, opinion.
"An essential factor in leadership is the capacity to influence."

Managers vs Leaders
The aim of both managers and leaders is achieve the organization's goal, but through different methods or style.
Managers - can also use Influence because only a fraction of managerial work can be accomplished through control and the use of authority.
- Work is accomplished through assignments, tasks, plans, organizations, processes, measurements and so on.
- Must direct and manage the workers performance.
Human work at best when they are treated well and cared for. They will remain loyal and engaged as long as they are treated with respect and trusted. Managers also leads; through emotional and social approaches influencing, not only rational approaches.
Leaders - lead by mobilizing people around a compelling vission of the future, by inspiring them to follow in the leader's footstep.
- Work is accomplished through influence, not authority.
- The best leaders are role-model, mentor, teachers etc.
Leaders lead by influencing people, giving people to look at the situation alligning to his and encouraging of new ways to look at situation. They give people the sense of purpose, energize and focus on people, and leaving them with a sense of accomplishment when the work is done.
Conclusion....
In an organization, it is essential to have both leader and manager. In many cases, leaders and managers are on in the same. The divison vice president who leads a team of people to accomplish something they might thought of not accomplishing, is also a manager. The manager who oversees the task performance but also take care of the team member's career planning and coaches them in developing their skills is also a leader.
