5 traits of a successful leader

1. Do what you say.

A true leader practices what they preach and keeps their promises. Do what you say. Lead with integrity to build your trust among your coworkers, and you'll see that others are inspired to do the same.


2. Give credit, take blame.

A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame. Being a successful leader means having the emotional maturity to take accountability when things go wrong. Once a task is complete, be sure to give colleagues the proper recognition.


3. Be the leader you want to follow.

A good leader never ask anything of their teams that they are not willing to do themselves. To lead means to go first and to show the way to their followers.


4. Head up, shoulders back.

Successful leader knows how to keep a cool exterior and stay level-headed, even when dealing with adversity. No matter what's going on in the background, successful leader remains confident, serving as a positive example.


5. Encourage responsibility through accountability.

It's not what you expect but what you inspect that will get done. Be sure those to be held account also have authority to get it done and have a clear sense for how success will be measurwant
